Co-founder and Head of International Relations
Carolina is a co-founder of Rio Ethical Fashion and leads its international engagement strategy, being responsible for the event’s positioning with international specialists and sustainable fashion brands. She is also responsible for the event’s international agenda and coordinating with non-Brazilian REF panelists.
Carolina has 10 years of experience working on CSR & sustainability issues in the private sector and at international organizations.
She is CEO and co-founder of Fauna (www.befauna.com), an online marketplace focused on helping consumers of fashion make more sustainable choices by connecting them to sustainable clothing brands from Brazil.
Previously, Carolina was the United Nations Global Compact’s Client Engagement Manager for the Americas and Spain, and held positions at the UN-backed Principles for Responsible Investment and the UN Global Compact's LEAD platform. She also worked as a researcher with the UN Development Programme in Singapore and Indonesia. In addition, Carolina has held in-house positions at a global mining company, where she focused on climate change issues.
Carolina holds a Master of Public Administration from Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs, a Master of Public Policy from the National University of Singapore, and a BSc in International Relations from IBMEC School in Rio de Janeiro.
