Emanuela Pinheiro is a social entrepreneur, founder and director of the impact business Women of the Global South, a multicultural sewing atelier for the empowerment of refugee women based in Rio de Janeiro. In 2019, she was selected by the Global Attitude program as civil society delegate to join the CSW 63 - Commission on Status of Women at the UN headquarters in New York. In 2018, she won the Top Ten Innovators award, where Women of the Global South was voted as one of the 10 most innovative projects in the world by the ShellLiveWire program. In 2017, Emanuela joined the list of inspiring women of the prestigious Think Olga organization by winning prizes for social innovation and creative economy: she won first place in the 2017 Shell Youth Initiative; was the winner of the Sustainable Fashion Challenge of ColaboraAmérica 2017; and won the 2018 Sustainable Enterprise Seal of the Shell Youth Initiative program.
