The International Forum Rio Ethical Fashion brought together well known names in sustainable fashion at Oi Casa Grande Theatre, in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
Conceived by the creative director Yamê Reis, the event explored themes such as diversity in fashion, ethics and new luxury, circular economy and the challenges of sustainability in the Brazilian industry, among others. Rio Ethical Fashion (REF) counts on the support of Instituto C&A, the strategic support of Instituto-E (which was created and is presided by Oskar Metsavaht), and on sustainable marketing consultancy by Lilly Clark
There has been an intense movement and discussion about the issue in the biggest fashion cities in the world and, despite the huge size of our industry and our original and innovative cases, we were still isolated from the debate. RioEthical Fashion intends to bring Brazil to this debate by showing the strength of our industry and sharing our experiences, so as to build up foundations fo a responsible and clean fashion model

The success of the 2019 edition ensured the second edition of REF, which will occur on June 5th, 2020.
